About Us
Welcome
to Safa House, the unique, one-stop hajj and umra supplies store online, and more! Our Mission:
Safa House has been established with the primary purpose of making it easier for the thousands of brothers and sisters getting ready for hajj and umrah every year. Even though thousands of muslims go to hajj and umrah from the West (U.S., Canada and Europe) yearly, there was no comprehensive hajj and umrah supplies store to serve their needs - until Safa House stepped in. * We strive to be your comprehensive, one-stop shop where you will find everything for your trip in a single source - so you save money and effort.
* We also aim to function as an educational source, especially for the first time pilgrim, by : 1. recommending useful items to take along for their trip, 2. providing them with tools and information on the manasik as well as the inner dimesions of hajj and umrah (please see our useful links section). Our Vision: We work with suppliers domestically as well as from abroad to get you the most useful, highest quality products at the best possible values. We continuously scan the domestic and international markets for more and even better products. You are the reason why we are here, so we listen to you to serve you better. We aspire to, insha'allah, expand our product offerings in order to meet more and more of your needs, however diverse they may be. And we want to be your trusted source for hajj & umrah supplies as well as modest clothing and accessories.

We know what you need for your hajj and umrah trip, because we've been there - and that is how it all started...
Our
Manager Tells Our Story:
Alhamdulillah,
my husband and I performed hajj in the year 2006-07. He being very
busy, I had to do run pretty much all the errands for the big trip.
Finding comfortable and yet modest (enough to wear for hajj!) women's
clothing was the first stumbling block. I already dressed modestly, but
needed even more *anonymous* clothing which would not stand out in
anyway among the millions of fellow hajjis AND comfortable enough to
wear throughout the streneous rituals of hajj. I know I wanted to wear
a very longer duster (or dress/jilbab) with pants underneath. Regular
store clothing was out of the question, I soon discovered, since
nothing was really long enough. Then I went through hours and hours of
online search through clothing websites. It was hard to
find what I really thought would be the best combination: a long top +
pant suit, made from light cotton to help with the heat and nothing
fancy to blend in with the millions. Well, I can't say that I really
came close to the ideal combination. There were a few eligible
compromises, but they were way too expensive. I asked friends who were
also going for hajj what they were going to wear, and to my surprise,
the most common answer was: "I don't know, I am wondering myself, too".
I could hardly believe that many women going for hajj and umrah every
year from the U.S. had to deal with the same issue, year after year.
After much research and ensuing headache, I ended up having to ask a
family member in the Middle East to buy the right outfit for me from
there. There was still a lot more on my shopping list, as I wanted to be well prepared
for the trip of a lifetime: scentless soap, surgical masks,
inflatable neck pillow, alcohol free wipes, unscented wipes,
electrolytes, alcohol-free lip balm, cold medicines, and the list went
on and on. Finding most proved quite difficult, frustrating and very,
very time consuming. I wanted to concentrate on reading about hajj and
its meaning but was instead taking daily trips to the drugstore, retail
shops, surfing the web hours on end, to finish up the shopping. The
surgical grade soft type masks I was looking for were simply not sold
retail; the personal cleansing bottles for travel were hard to locate
and, when I finally found one online, came with a shipping charge triple the price of the bottle itself. My husband and I spent hours to find a
good quality inflatable pillow without spending a fortune. To find most
of the things took many hours, days and weeks; multiple trips to multiple
stores, reading lots of labels to ensure they contained no alcohol, no
scent. On
top of it, the "unscented" bug repellent turned out useless, since I
found after testing it at home that it did contain some scent, and now
I was stuck with it. When finally done with the shopping after much
time, expenses, and frustration, I vowed that I would do my best to
serve muslims by providing them a one-stop source for their hajj and
umrah needs, with the permission of Allah. No more multiple trips to
the store, no more trials and errors with the wrong products, no waste
of time and money. What we needed was ihram and hajj compatible products all in one place.
That's how Safa House was born.
Our store:
Safa House is
designed in the form a department store, currently featuring four
divisions: our unique hajj store, women's clothing department that is still growing,
personal care & hygiene department and our travel store. Our aim
is to provide a convenient shopping environment to all our customers where they can count on our high standards for quality products
and excellent customer service as well as our commitment to offering
the lowest prices possible. We are strictly committed to providing you with the highest quality products. Now, briefly about each of our departments:
Hajj
Store: This is our signature store that started it
all! We carry unique hajj packets filled with useful products for your hajj or umrah trip, as well as individual items for
the same purpose. Our store is unique in that it is the only
store of its kind, dedicated solely to serve the needs of those
preparing for hajj and umrah. Under one roof, you will find a whole
array of products from men's ihram towels & women's hajj/umrah
clothing to alcohol-free lotions & deodorants and scent-free
soaps and much more! We did the work for you so you can focus on learning the manasik and preparing for the inner aspects of your hajj/umrah.
Women's
clothing: Designed to serve the needs of the modestly dressed
muslim woman in the West, our women's clothing department is to feature
mostly contemporary styles: pant sets, modern jilbabs, long skirts and more; as well as a line of traditional clothing. Stay tuned! Our hijabs and pashminas are among the best quality and the most affordable in the market - a rare combination, and our committment.
Personal
care & hygiene: This department carries the same personal care
items offered in our hajj store, as well as additional ALL NATURAL products. Why all natural? We are aware of our responsibility not only to care for our own bodies, but to also safeguard the wellbeing of every single creature God Almighty put on this earth! After all, isn't men the vicegerent of God? Using chemical-free products that do not harm our own health as well as the earth is part of being true to that trust.
Our lotions, creams,
etc...are all alchohol-free so you can have peace of mind instead of
being concerned about your wudu by applying them. We strive to bring to you the most
natural, chemical-free products we can find, all vegan,
whenever possible.
Travel
store: This department features pretty much the same travel accessories for your security and comfort that our Hajj and Umrah store does. We just grouped them here separately to find them easily, if that is all you are looking for!
OUR STORE IS STILL GROWING AND WE ARE CONSTANTLY ADDING TO OUR PRODUCTS. PLEASE CHECK BACK SOON IF YOU CAN'T FIND WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR NOW, AS WE MIGHT HAVE IT SHORTLY! Or, write to us with your product needs, we might be able to find it for you!
Why the name Safa House?
The word SAFA includes the meanings 'pure', 'devoted to something with clear intent' and 'honest in dealings' in Arabic. Not unrelatedly, it is also the name of the hill where those performing hajj or umrah start off their Sa'iy (effort) in the footsteps of Hagar (RA). We chose the name with the hopes and aspirations of being true to its meaning at this undertaking, our store. We chose to add the "House" to represent our intent to bring many different products and solutions all under one roof. Hence the name, Safa House.
We hope you benefit from your time at Safa House, and we look forward to serving you! Your brothers and sisters at Safa House.
